The price of a sauna room is the first thing everyone asks and the last thing most websites answer. Ours starts from RM26,000, supplied and installed, and every room is quoted in writing before anything is built. This guide explains what that starting number covers, what moves it up, what it costs to run, and why the final figure only comes after a free visit to your home.
In short:A sauna room in Malaysia costs from RM26,000 supplied and installed for an infrared room, with steam rooms from about RM30,000, barrel saunas from about RM35,000 and outdoor cabins from about RM45,000. Size, timber, heater brand and delivery to your state move the number; the final price is fixed in writing after a free site visit.
The starting prices, and what they include
Our range prices as they stand, each one a supplied-and-installed figure for the entry size:
- Infrared sauna room: from RM26,000. The floor of the range.
- Steam sauna room, stove heated: from RM30,000.
- Barrel sauna: from RM35,000.
- Outdoor sauna cabin: from RM45,000.
- Ice baths, hot tubs and the hot and cold tub: priced on the quote.
What is in the number
Supply and installation, the heater or the infrared panels, the bucket, ladle and timer, and a written fixed quote. We do not sell a bare cabin and add the heater later. The room arrives as panels, is assembled in your home, the heater is fitted and the first heat-up is done.
Not in the number: the electrician's work if the power point needs upgrading, a concrete slab for an outdoor cabin, and any bathroom work if you choose the steam options. We tell you about each of these at the site visit, before the quote, so none of them appears later as a surprise.
What the written quote itemises
The quote lists the room by size and model, the timber, the heater brand and its electrical load, the delivery leg to your state, and the installation. It also notes anything you agreed to prepare, such as the slab. That is the document you sign, and the price on it is the price you pay.
What moves the price up
Four things, and you control all four:
- Size and seats. A 100 × 100 cm single seat and a 220 × 220 cm family room are different amounts of timber, glass and heater.
- Timber. Canadian hemlock is the standard; red cedar costs more and smells of a forest when it warms.
- Heater. Harvia, Sawo and SIPENTK electric stoves sit at different points; a VAPA wood stove for an outdoor cabin is its own line.
- Delivery. Quoted per state. Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan go by sea freight and take longer.

Why we quote after a free site visit
Two rooms of the same size can carry different installation work: a condo on the twelfth floor with a tight lift, a landed home with a power point that needs upgrading, a garden that needs a slab. We come over for free, measure, check the power point and walk the carry-in route, and then the price is fixed in writing. No surprises on delivery day.
What it costs to run
A home sauna heater is typically in the 3 to 9 kW range and runs for a pre-heat and a timed session, so a half-hour sauna uses a few kilowatt-hours of electricity. Infrared panels draw less. At domestic tariffs that is a few ringgit per session, which is less than most people spend on a coffee on the way to a spa.
Maintenance is small: stones checked yearly, benches wiped, the door left open to dry. There is no chemical, no filter and no water bill for a dry sauna.
Getting your own number
Send one photo of the space on WhatsApp with a rough size. We reply with the room that fits and the starting price, book the free visit, and send the written quote after it. If you want to see how the sizes line up first, read the dimensions guide; if you are weighing a kit against an installed room, DIY or built to order adds the sums up.
